Baldur's Gate 3: How to Escape from Prison

 In today's guide, I'll be sharing ways to escape from prison in Baldur's Gate 3. Getting caught and ending up in jail can happen, but fear not, there are several methods to regain your freedom.



Escape Methods in Baldur's Gate 3 If you find yourself imprisoned in Baldur's Gate 3, here are three primary methods to escape:

  1. Interacting with the Environment:

    • In the Druid Grove, you can break through a wooden wall or escape through a hole in the wall at the goblin camp.

  2. Unlocking Doors:

    • Use your imprisoned character or another party member to unlock the door.

  3. Exploiting Bugs:

    • In some instances, interacting with certain characters like Sezza in the Druid Grove can unexpectedly free your character from the cell.

Escaping the Prison (Druid Grove Example)

  • Choose the bare-handed attack from the action menu.
  • Target the wooden wall for your attack.
  • Continue attacking until the wall breaks.
  • Navigate around the prison to where Sezza is located by following the broken wall.
  • Interact with Sezza for a smooth exit from the cell.

Unlocking the Prison Door

  • Interact with the door to see available options.
  • Choose the option to unlock.
  • Roll a D20 die and achieve a Sleight of Hand score of 15 or higher.

Retrieving Your Belongings Post-Escape

  • Your items are stored in two chests outside the prison.
  • One chest contains items you had before entering the prison, and the other contains 'evidence items'.

Post-Escape Consequences

  • Upon escaping, if you encounter the person who imprisoned you, a conversation will be initiated.
  • Three options are available:
    • Voluntarily return to prison.
    • Persuade them to let you go.
    • Initiate a fight.
